ISAAC FREEMAN

FOUNDER

Before founding Sturdy Holdings, I spent eight years at McKinsey & Company, most recently as an Associate Partner, working with everyone from heavy equipment operators to C-suite executives on strategic and operational challenges.  While my work included growth strategy, market due-diligence, and pricing optimization, I spent the majority of my time helping organizations in ‘hard-hat’ industries improve operational performance and increase profitability.  Through this work, I developed deep expertise in productivity optimization, frontline enablement/capability building, Lean manufacturing, digital tool development/deployment, and cost optimization.  I’ve spent countless hours in control rooms, on shop floors, and out in the field, and in doing so, have developed an enormous respect for these essential businesses and the people who make them run.

While I have loved advising, I’m ready to transition from advisor to owner.  I’m passionate about operating something of my own and creating a legacy for my family.  I’m committed to finding the right business where I can build on a strong existing foundation and take it to the next level – not  through financial engineering or by gutting it for short-term gains and a quick sale, but by investing for the long haul to create something meaningful and lasting.  And I’m committed to doing this with the business’s employees and customers, not to them.

I live in Denver with my wife and daughter, and two dogs.  When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family, hiking up the mountains, dirt-biking on old mining roads, or tinkering in the garage.  I hold an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS in Quantitative Economics at Tufts University.
